JUNE 21, 2000 The Santo Domingo Pueblo School instituted a program called "Success for All" which has resulted in the improvement of the schools' reading levels and standardized test scores. By March of this year, 38 percent of fourth graders, up from 3 percent at the beginning of the school year, and 26 percent of seventh graders, up from 2 percent, were reading at grade level or above. Standardized test scores at grade levels three, four, and eight greatly improved as well. School officials have been happy and surprised with the quick results gained from the program. Most children speak Keres exclusively at home and in daily life. The Pueblo forbids Keres to be taught in school. Get the Story:
