Blame game played over Indian education

MAY 31, 2001 Responding to a protest over the education of Indian students in Minneapolis, the incoming education commissioner for the Mille Lacs Ojibwe Band on Wednesday said public schools aren't the only ones to blame poor graduation rates and other problems. Duane Dunkley said the real goal should be selling education to Indian communities. While public schools have low graduation rates, he says Indian schools don't fare all that better. Get the Story:
