Navajo woman named regent

New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson on Wednesday nominated Sandra Begay-Campbell to the University of New Mexico Board of Regents.

The Navajo engineer is an employee of Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque. She recently served as executive director of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society.

The Legislature has to approve Begay-Campbell's nomination and that of Eric Anaya, also named Wednesday.
