Fire forces evacuation on Apache reservation

TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2003 A fire on the Fort Apache Reservation in Arizona has forced the evacuation of 5,000 residents and the Indian Health Service. The 5,800-acre Kinishba Fire was sparked by lightning on Sunday. Residents had less than an hour notice to evacuate yesterday, The Arizona Republic reported. The reservation was the site of last year's devastating Rodeo-Chediski Fire. Get the Story:
