Remains near S.D. school reach back 1 000 years

FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2003 The South Dakota Archaeological Research Center believes remains found near a school in Brandon date back 1,000 years. A skull was found Wednesday at the site of a new elementary school. Parts of it were broken by construction equipment, Brandon Police Chief Phil Youngdale told The Sioux Falls Argus Leader. The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe will oversee further work. Get the Story:
