More than 1 000 march in Navajo Nation rally

TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 2003 More than 1,000 marched in a rally on the Navajo Nation to support Native veterans and Native Americans in the military, The Farmington Daily Times reported. Navajo Nation Vice President Frank Dayish Jr. helped lead the parade, which was three blocks long, lasted four hours and, despite tying up traffic, went smoothly. Speakers paid tribute to Lori Piestewa, the Hopi woman killed in action in Iraq, and other Native veterans. Get the Story:
