TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 2003 The Fond Du Lac Band of Ojibwe is hoping to reclaim an 18-acre village that tribal ancestors were evicted from in the early 1900s. The Wisconsin Point site included a cemetery. The city of Superior dug up all the bodies buried them in a mass grave in town. Tribal members hope they can be reburied. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers no longer uses the site so it has been declared "surplus." The Bureau of Indian Affairs is asking the General Services Administration to have it placed in trust.
