Alaska Native shareholders get $100 000 payout

FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2003 Shareholders of a small Alaska Native village corporation received the second of two $100,000 tax-free payments this week. Akhiok Kaguyak Inc. represents the village of Akhiok. It is distributing the money to 147 eligible shareholders, who voted to liquidate $31 million of a $36 million trust. The trust was created from the sale of 77,000 acres of land. Get the Story:
