N.Y. town seeks more money from Oneida Nation

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2003 A town in New York is asking for more money from the Oneida Nation, The Syracuse Post-Standard reports. Verona officials want an additional $200,000 from the tribe, which contributes money to schools and local governments in order to offset land it has purchased. The payment is based on the value of the land at the time of purchase. Get the Story:
