Increased diabetes funding praised

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2002 Under a Congressional bill ready for President Bush's signature, the Navajo Nation could receive more than $9 million in funding to combat diabetes The funding is contained in a reauthorization of the Special Diabetes program. Congress is providing $150 million a year for the next five years for prevention, treatment care and research in Indian Country. Get the Story:
