AP: Domenici could head Energy committee

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2002 Senator Pete Domenici (R-New Mexico) might become the new chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, the Associated Press reports. Domenici said he is nearing a decision. He would replace fellow New Mexican, Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D), in the post but would give up the top spot on the powerful Senate Budget Committee, the AP reported. Under Bingaman's leadership, the committee pushed through an Indian Country energy policy that is part of the energy policy bill. Get the Story:
