Utah panel wants improved Indian policy

A task force in Utah is recommending the state make major changes in order to improve the education of Indian students.

The Indian Education Strategic Planning Task Force is composed of Indian and tribal leaders. It is advising the state on reforms under the No Child Left Behind Act.

The panel wants the state to develop an Indian education policy in consultation with tribal governments.
