Okla. school to honor Indian ballerinas

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2002 The University of Oklahoma School of Dance is honoring five Native ballerinas. The school and the American Indian Cultural Society will host several events in honor of Yvonne Chouteau, Rosella Hightower, Moscelyne Larkin, Maria Tallchief and Marjorie Tallchief. "En Pointe," a movie about the ballerinas will be shown October 25. Yvonne Chouteau and Marjorie Tallchief will be present at the events, including the AICS Tenth Anniversary Intertribal Fall Gourd Dance on October 26. Get the Story:
