Wis. judge allows casino compact suit

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2002 A Wisconsin state appeals court reinstated a lawsuit challenging tribal gaming compacts. The owner of a race track filed suit against the state. A state judge dismissed the case because tribes weren't named, and couldn't be named due to sovereign immunity. The appeals court acknowledged the sovereignty issue but said the lawsuit should be allowed anyway. Get the Story:
