Catawba Tribe to hold elections

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2002 The Catawba Tribe of South Carolina plans to hold elections on September 7. The elections are being opposed by the current administration, which alleges a rival group of tribal members has no power to call them. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has issued a letter saying it would not interfere. Get the Story:
