Neb. reservation school sees test gains

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 2002 Fourth-grade students at a school on the Omaha Reservation in Nebraska saw their test scores jump dramatically. According to results released Wednesday, 73 percent of students in Macy were proficient on the writing test. This is an increase from 16 percent last year. Test scores at Walthill, also on the Omaha Reservation, weren't as impressive. Only 15 percent were proficient in writing. On the neighboring Winnebago Reservation, fourth-graders at Winnebago Public School were 28 percent proficient. The state average is about 73 percent. Get the Story:
