Wash. tribes want control of monument

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2002 The Confederated Umatilla Tribes of Washington want a co-management role at the Hanford Reach National Monument. The monument contains lands that once belonged to the tribes. It also contains sacred sites. Hanford Reach was created by former President Bill Clinton in June 2000. Get the Story:
