Tuesday, July 29, 2003
The state of South Dakota is encouraging tribes to collect the state's 22-cent gas tax.
The South Dakota Supreme Court has ruled that the state owes tribal members who paid the tax illegally. The state now says tribes can develop a new source of revenue by adopting the gas tax.
