Editorial: Anderson should not resign from BIA
Friday, May 7, 2004
"Dave Anderson, Edina resident and barbecue restaurateur, has only been on the job at the Bureau of Indian Affairs for a few months and already some in Washington are calling for his head. Anderson, who was also a founder of Grand Casino in Minnesota, has recused himself from all decisions relating to tribal recognition, land-into-trust and gaming issues. While we don't think that Anderson's prior business ties necessitated such a drastic move, you have to admire so principled a stand in the ethical swamp known as Washington, D.C."
