MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2001 Two Tlingit and Athabaskan girls had their coming out pow-wow this past weekend in Anchorage and used the occasion to raise money to help victims of last week's attacks on the nation. The Bell family planned the pow-wow for Shirley, 12, and Sophie, 15, well in advance. But after the attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, the girls decided to raise money.

A Tlingit blanket dance brought in $1,018, which the girls are donating to the Red Cross.
