WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2001 The Topeka Public Building Commission in Kansas on Tuesday officially designated the state's newest public building as the the Charles Curtis State Office Building. Of Kaw ancestry, Curtis is the only Native American who has served as vice president. He was also the first Native in the U.S. Senate. Get the Story:
