Rep. Mary Bono (R-Calif.) on Wednesday introduced a bill to expand the Indian Financing Act of 1974 and increase loans for tribal economic development projects.

The bill would require guarantees behind loans approved by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to stay in place even if the notes are sold to other lenders. The loans apply only to non-gaming ventures.
