WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2001 The state of Connecticut has given a $6.15 million grant to the developers of a building that will house the offices of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. Gov. John G. Rowland (R) on Tuesday awarded the grant to the Norwich Community Development Corp. It is the final piece of funding for the long-delayed proposal. Under the proposal, the tribe is turning over a property in Norwich to the developers. The tribe will then lease office space -- yet to be contructed -- on the site. Get the Story:
