A report presented to the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce on Thursday shows that Alaska Native corporations have seen significant growth in revenue, profits, and shareholder equity over the past two decades.

"Native Corporations: Building a Foundation for Alaska's Economic Destiny," a report prepared by the Association of ANCSA Regional Corporation Presidents/CEOs, takes a look at the economic growth of the 12 regional corporations created under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). The report covers the period from 1990 to 1999.

During that period, revenues grew from $570 million to $2 billion. Profits grew by 98 percent and shareholder equity grew by 100 percent.
