An Oneida Nation court has authorized the inspection of a home on the tribe's reservation in New York.

Judge Stewart Hancock said the tribe has an interest in ensuring the quality of housing on tribal land. But detractors say the inspections are an excuse to evict tribal dissidents.

Elizabeth and Ray Roberts had challenged the inspection. Hancock ruled against them on August 23.
