Sovereignty issues discussed at forum

Federal recognition, land claims, gaming, and jurisdiction were among the sovereignty issues discussed on Tuesday at a forum held at the Connecticut state legislature.

The forum was arranged by the First Americans Education Project of Washington at the request of legislature's Public Safety and Judiciary committees. Representatives from local tribes attended, as well as local officials and lawmakers.
