JUNE 29, 2001 The New Mexico State historic preservation officer wants the Federal Communications Commission to review a cell phone tower located on private land in Pecos. Elmo Baca says the company who owns the tower, SBA Towers Inc., failed to notify his office of its construction. He also said the company failed to ask about potential concerns Jemez Pueblo and other tribes may have about the tower. The FCC has asked the company to provide documents to show it has complied with FCC environmental rules and the National Historic Preservation Act. Get the Story:
