MONDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2001 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the Eskimo Walrus Commission co-sponsored an ivory auction on Friday, scheduled to coincide with the Alaska Federation of Natives' annual convention. Together, the three agencies told a reported 500 pounds of salvaged walrus tusks. A number of Native artists bought pieces to use in their creations. Get the Story:
