THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2001 Members of the Spokane Tribe of Washington are helping excavate and study a site that will be disturbed by a construction project. Along with the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, the Spokane Tribe considers Coyote's Rocks a sacred site. It was the location of a battle between Coyote and Bear, according to tribal history. The site was used as a joint camping ground of two tribe and is at least 2,000 years old. Get the Story:
