Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump continued their march toward winning their respective parties' nominations after a string of victories on Tuesday. Clinton won four of five states and has secured 1,650 delegates, according to The New York Times. When her 519 "superdelegates" are added to the total, she is almost within the 2,383 needed to clinch the Democratic nod. Despite the strong gains, rival Bernie Sanders has pledged to keep fighting until the Democratic National Convention. The party meets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from July 25-28. "The people in every state in this country should have the right to determine who they want as president and what the agenda of the Democratic Party should be," Sanders said in a statement.

On the Republican side, Trump won five states and brought his delegate total to 953, according to the Times. He needs 1,237 to secure the nomination and could do so with victories in just two more states, the paper said. Rivals John Kasich and Ted Cruz remain far behind in delegate counts but they are still hopeful they can stop Trump at Republican National Convention. The party is meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, from July 18-21. Get the Story:
