The Fort Peck Tribes of Montana have laid charges against a woman who is connected to the death of a one-year-old girl on the reservation.

Few details have been released about the case but the woman is due in tribal court on Friday, the Associated Press reported. The suspect also faces federal charges as the investigation continues.

Kenzley Olson was found dead in Poplar on Wednesday. Residents have expressed shock at the crime, which some have speculated is linked to drug abuse on the reservation.

“I really think it’s getting worse. It’s not getting better,” Peter Dupree told the AP. “The law and order has to step up to the plate.”
