A big day has arrived for the Squaxin Island Tribe of Washington. The tribe will officially debut Elevation, the first legal marijuana outlet in Indian Country, at 4:20pm this afternoon. A soft opening was held on Tuesday, Northwest Public Radio reported. "You know I really don't feel comfortable going that route," council member Jim Peters told NWPR when the idea first came up. "But if it is legal and we can take advantage of a business for our community and we can get some revenue out of it, I'm willing to try it out." The store is located at 90 W State Route 108 in Shelton. It's being operated under a compact (draft version) with the state government. Sales are limited to customers over the age of 21. The shop will be open every day of the week. Get the Story:
