United American Indian Involvement of Los Angeles, California, is looking forward to another Thanksgiving. The organization hosts its 37th annual Thanksgiving dinner next Wednesday, November 25. Nearly 400 dinners were served to family and youth at last year's event. “We will continue to provide various services within our agency for American Indians struggling during the holidays," CEO Jerimy Billy said. "Not only will American Indians have a community they can go to within UAII, but also share an opportunity of hope.” United American Indian Involvement, located in downtown Los Angeles, was founded in 1974. It offers health care, social services and other programs to tribal members in Los Angeles County. Los Angeles is home to nearly 27,000 Native Americans, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Los Angeles County boasts an even larger number -- more than 147,000, according to the agency.
