Osage Nation accuses former employee of adding non-Indians to rolls

The Osage Nation of Oklahoma filed criminal charges against a former employee, News on 6 reported.

Asa Cunningham, 48, is accused of adding non-Indians to the rolls. She was the former assistant director of membership for the tribe, according to a LinkedIn profile.

Cunningham faces three counts of tampering with public records in tribal court, News on 6 reported.

Membership in the Osage Nation is open to anyone who is a lineal descendant of someone who appeared on a 1906 roll. The tribe has more than 18,000 members.
