A member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians died in the Neshoba County jail last week.

Rexdale Wayne Henry, 53, was listed in the county jail docket that was published in The Neshoba Democrat on July 13. He was found dead the next morning in his cell, News MS reported.

According to WTOK, Henry had been seen alive only 30 minutes prior to his death. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will handling the investigation.

Henry was full-blooded Choctaw, a fellow tribal member said. He is the second person to die in the jail within the past year -- the widow of Michael McDougle has filed a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit against the county sheriff and the police department in Philadelphia, a city near the reservation.

Henry was laid to rest on Sunday.
