Thomas J. Schlicker, the former police chief for the Swinomish Tribe of Washington, has been accused of stealing more than $30,000.

Schlicker, 57, was indicted on six counts of wire fraud and four counts of theft of tribal funds. Federal prosecutors said he set up an unauthorized bank account for the police department and took money from it, used a credit card for unauthorized purchases and submitted a fraudulent reimbursement form.

The crimes allegedly occurred between 2008 and 2014. Schlicker was fired last September.
