Three people were killed in a head-on collision on a dangerous road that runs through the reservation of the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida.

The incident occurred on the Tamiami Trail on Wednesday night, according to news reports. The Florida Highway Patrol said speed was a factor.

The driver, who was said to be a member of the Seminole Tribe, was killed, according to news reports. His passenger, who was said to be a member of the Miccosukee Tribe, was airlifted to a hospital.

Two people in the other car also died. They were reported to be citizens of Britain and Germany.

The crash occurred right before the boundary of the Miccosukee Reservation. At least other three tribal members have died this year on the same road.
