North Dakota tribe holds primary for chairman and council seats

The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota holds a primary election next week.

Six people are running for chairman. Included are incumbent Tex Hall and former chairman Marcus Levings, whom Hall defeated for the post in 2010.

The top two vote-getters in the September 16 primary will advance to the November 4 general election. Also up for grabs are three council seats.
