St. Regis Mohawk Tribe suspends police chief and employees





The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York has suspended its police chief, a supervising officer and a civilian employee, Johnson Newspapers reports.

The three were suspended indefinitely due to allegations involving a petty cash account. Details are scarce but the Franklin County District Attorney said he is waiting for more information from the tribe.

The tribe has named Matthew Rourke as acting chief of police.
