Tragedy strikes Miccosukee Tribe as two killed in vehicle crash

Two members of the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida were killed in a vehicle accident on Saturday.

Authorities said Duane Billie, 37, the tribe's police captain, was trying to pass a car when he was struck head-on by Teresa Osceloa, 54. Both drivers died at the scene.

“Speed was a factor,” Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Joe Sanchez told The Miami Herald.

Billie is the nephew of Chairman Colley Billie.
