The Bureau of Indian Affairs has approved a land-into-trust application for the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation of California.

The tribe plans to use the 853-acre site for housing. But a group called the Capay Valley Coalition is appealing the decision and has asked the Interior Board of Indian Appeals to overturn it.

Supervisors in Yolo County previously raised questions about the application but have decided not to appeal. The board instead passed a resolution declaring its support for a "shared vision of growth, prosperity and partnership" with the tribe, The Woodland Daily Democrat reported.
