The founder of the National Black Farmers Association wants a share of the attorney fees awarded to the Cobell legal team. John W. Boyd Jr. said he lobbied the Obama administration and Congress on behalf of the Cobell plaintiffs. The $3.4 billion Cobell settlement and a settlement for African-American farmers were included in H.R.4783, the Claims Resolution Act of 2010. Boyd is suing Kilpatrick, Townsend & Stockton and Dennis Gingold, a solo practitioner. They received $99 million in attorney fees in the settlement. Get the Story:
