Navajo Nation Council speaker still on leave amid court fight

Navajo Nation Council Speaker Johnny Naize remains on paid leave as his lawsuit in tribal court proceeds.

Council delegates placed Naize on leave after he was charged in tribal court in a bribery scheme. He's now suing the 12 delegates who voted against him and one council employee.

A hearing on Naize's motion for a preliminary injunction against the delegates and the employee could take place next week, The Farmington Daily Times reported.
