The Garden City Group, the administrator of the $3.4 billion Cobell trust fund settlement, is warning beneficiaries of a potential fraud scheme.

According to a notice on IndianTrust.Com, people claiming to be associated with the Garden City Group are trying to obtain bank account information from beneficiaries. Anyone who has received a call is urged to contact the Garden City Group at 1-800-961-6109 or attorneys David Smith and Bill Dorris at 1-866-383-6554.

The second payment from the settlement is expected early this year. The first payment went out before Christmas in 2013.
