Ute Mountain Ute sets election for chair and council members

The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado has scheduled an October 11 election.
Tribal voters will be electing a new chair -- the three-year term of incumbent Gary Hayes is ending, The Cortez Journal reported. He survived a recall attempt last year.
Three council seats are also up for grabs.
