Authorities tight-lipped over death of girl on Spirit Lake Nation

Federal authorities remain tight-lipped about the death of a three-year-old girl on the Spirit Lake Nation in North Dakota.

The girl died at a home on the reservation last week. The FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs continue to investigate.

“The investigation will take as long as it takes, and the important thing is to get it right," Tim Purdon, the U.S. Attorney for North Dakota, told The Grand Forks Herald.

The girl was reportedly in the tribal foster care system. Her twin sister is also in the system, the paper said.
