Secretary Sally Jewell will speak at the National Congress of American Indians mid-year conference later this month.
Jewell is due to address tribal leaders on Thursday, June 27. This will be her first appearance before NCAI since taking control of the Interior Department in April.
Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn, the head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, is also on the agenda. He's been unable to attend several tribal events due to the sequestration of the federal budget.
This year's mid-year conference takes place June 24-27 in Reno, Nevada.
