House approves land-into-trust bill for Pascua Yaqui Tribe





The House passed H.R.507, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe Trust Land Act, by a vote of 401-2 on Monday.

The bill places 20 acres in trust for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona. The tribe gained federal recognition in 1978.

The tribe plans to use the land for a golf course. The bill contains a gaming prohibition.

The bill has been referred to the Senate.
