Colville Tribes start sending checks from $193M trust settlement

Members of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation of Washington are receiving a share of a $193 million trust settlement this week.

About $39 million is being distributed on a per capita basis to every tribal member. That represents about 20 percent of the settlement.

Some tribal members want more so they will vote August 11 on sharing another 30 percent of the settlement.
