Torres Martinez Desert Tribe reaches land-use agreement





The Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians has reached a land-use agreement with Riverside County in California.

The agreement covers non-Indian owned land within reservation boundaries. The tribe and the county will cooperate on permit and zoning issues.

"This long-awaited document will join the two parties so that we can begin working hand in hand,” said Vice Chairman Raymond Torres, The Palm Springs Desert Sun reported.
